The play ââ¬Å"No Childâ⬠, written by Nilaja Sun showcases a teacher, Ms. Sun as a teaching artist who is under a grant to facilitate the production of a play, teaching and encouraging live theoretical performances in a dysfunctional environment.No Child is a reflection of Nilaja Sunââ¬â¢s experiences as a teaching artist in the public school system in New York. In the play Ms. Sun brings a senses of hope and inspiration not only to the students but to the teachers as well in one of the toughest classrooms of Malcolm X High School, in Bronx, New York. The narrator of the play is a observant Janitor of the Malcolm X High School. Since he has been performing his job related duties as a janitor he witnessed the struggles and obstacle faced by the school and students. No Child accurately illustrates students, teachers and communities imprisoned by a corrupted public school system. The readers are introduced to Ms. Sun in Scene Three in the beginning of the play. Her intentions were to go into one of the worst class room throughout the school and have the students participate in Timberlake Wertenbakerââ¬â¢s Our Countryââ¬â¢s Good in six weeks. Considering the fact that Malcolm x High School is not a performing arts school, she insisted on connecting with the students and obtaining their interest. She radiates love and beauty wherever she is. Once of the first things Pearl really noticed in this world, was the dreaded letter. Why must she be so intrigued by this symbol of pain that I must bear? Hester Prynne March 25th, 1642 Today Pearl and I took a trip to the Governorââ¬â¢s Hall. The mansion was furnished so fancy and ornately. Colorful tapestries hung on the walls as well as portraits and armor and mirrors. The governor questioned whether I was capable of raising a child with all that I have done. I told him I would teach Pearl everything I have learned by wearing the Scarlet Letter and that it would be sufficient. When Pearl told them that I plucked her off of a rose-bush, it did not help their consciousness. I pleaded my case over and over and finally Mr. Dimmesdale came to my rescue. I have escaped this easily. I have been forward about the sin on my part. Whereas he must pretend nothing has ever happened and let it eat away at his consciousness. Oh the poor man. I wish I could do something to help! Hester Prynne July 18th, 1648 Dimmesdale is looking worse and worse. I ran into him in the woods today by the brook. Weââ¬â¢ve concluded that we should run away. We could start a new life back in London and wash away all remnants of this life. We could change our names, and I could dispose of this letter. I will start to make plans. I really hope Pearl warms up to him. The girl knows nothing but her mother and the letter. She was mighty apprehensive when I took the letter off today. Itââ¬â¢s such a shame she finds comfort in that, for it felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulder. She will warm up to him and me, I know it. With the participants, a total of 149 students of the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore were chosen. Both online as well as offline methods were used for data collection in 2012. Procedure The students activity line lasted for 6 weeks where the first round was conducted online and the second line was conducted offline. Each session comprised of 8 participants` At first a form was made to sign which was then followed by instructions adapted from Schultheiss and Pang(2007) followed by completing the PSE. Materials Three primary tools were used for the study to find out whether the need for power is the primary motivation driver of leadership and entrepreneurial career intent (Draper Smith, 2014). In the online round the EP; career aspirations scale was used where the respective alphabets stand for entrepreneurial, professional and leadership aspirations. The students were asked to rate each item in the list from 1-5. Which was used for strongly disagree to strongly agree. In the second round the EPL career intention forced choice items were used. In this various items presented the E,P and L careers which were posed as being mutually exclusive alternatives a the participants were asked to indicate their intention to follow just one career and giving up the other. They were asked to describe the path that best describes their objective and the one which they do not want at all and the mode of answer being check box answers (Watts et al., 2015).These measures were used to measure the intention of the career in the given analyses. For measuring the motives, PSE was used. It is a research version in which the different stories are given in response to pictures that are motivationally arousing. Photos like impressing a crowd of people, competing with sporting rivals are show and they have to write a story of their own` The resultants are coded to receive the answers. The winter system of coding was used in the given study. Scores were found and used for the Results Results Regression analyses (multiple) were used to assess the motives predicted in the EL Intent with each component being examined in different analyses (Draper Smith, 2014). Through this, nPow which means need for power was reflected to positively impact and forecast the entrepreneurial intent and had a negative impact on the professional intent (Menard, 2018). Whereas, if a higher need for power was observed, it was associated with leadership as well as entrepreneurial choice. The need for achievement did not have any important impact. Hence, the results gave away that there exists an undocumented relationship or connection between the need for power and the ambition of entrepreneurship along with certain existent differences in the motivating profiles of actual entrepreneurs from that of the aspiring ones.
